This is a grid straight out of a cubist painting or a modern art museum, thanks to its unusual block arrangement. The look vaguely reminds me of the Pompidou, which is my favorite thing that I visited when we went to Paris in 2016 (I almost said “last year”…). Perhaps the inclusion of 14-Across as the seed entry is appropriate (trust me, I’m not giving anything away here) for the grid… I think you’ll see what I’m talking about here.

  1. I only just discovered your site and having solved (more or less) six of these so far, I feel comfortable saying these are the most consistently difficult straight crosswords I have found on the web (and I do most of the independent puzzles listed on the left there).

    I don’t think I ever DNF’d an Agard or a Pasco, but I have three so far here. OK, I’ve definitely DNF’d a BEQ now and again.
