Another grid that looks like something straight out of a science fiction monster movie. The only black squares in the grid that I moved in the process of constructing this grid were the six squares that are the “stalactites” and “stalagmites” in the middle third of the grid; I moved them repeatedly back and forth, toward and away from the center. If you did a time lapse of my construction, it would look like the monster’s teeth were moving back and forth, devouring the unsuspecting cruciverbal victim in the middle.
Thanks so much to all who’ve left a tip! It’s much appreciated, believe me.
Thanks as always to the test solvers for their input.
As always, share this link! Pass it around! New puzzle on Friday!
A real ballbuster – very satisfying in the end. Maybe best clue in the puzzle is 33A. I did have to resort to google 4 times. I’d say 4.8 Crossword Fiend points. Just one question – how is BAY a feature of many a WORT? I love a puzzle where I learn stuff. Thanks again. And also thank you Tim for monitoring the comment sections even 3 weeks old.
