Puzzle 530: Freestyle 478. Did you just assume my hemisphere?

Last Tuesday’s freestyle solution

Word count: 70
Mean word length: 5.34

Have something you wanna say? Got a question? Want to do a guest freestyle? Want to collaborate on a freestyle? Want to just say hello? Hit me up by email!

I hope all who celebrate have a Merry Christmas or a Happy Hanukkah. And if you don’t celebrate either, I hope you’re having a good day anyway!

I definitely had the option to bring it to 72 words. I know I say constantly how I don’t mind adding a pair of extra squares to make the fill better, but (a) the fill came out good as it is, if I do say so myself, and (b) that would have brought the block count to 40, which is not a line I’m really willing to cross for 70 or 72 entries.

Thanks so much to all who’ve left a tip! It’s much appreciated, believe me.

Thanks as always to the test solvers for their input.

As always, share this link! Pass it around! New puzzle on Friday!

  1. Thanks Tim – I just learned something new “bothsidesism” fairly describes a lot of what we see in the news these days.

Change of subject – great puzzle, as most of yours are – “oh poo” made me laugh out loud.

Hope your New Year 2020(!) is filled with all good things, especially health for you and yours.

    1. Happy New Year to you too! Interestingly enough, that’s not the first time I’ve even used “oh poo” in a grid on this site.

No kidding — it’s either one extreme (both sides are equally valid and it’s not okay to take sides) or the other (one side is absolutely wrong all the time) in the news. It got tiring a long time ago.

  2. happy xmas, tim

thanks for your gift of puzzles gotta say that on average they take longer than anyone’s on a regular basis (today was a fucking cruncher for me) but i stick with them cause i have learned that they are, indeed, solvable in the end

    have a great new year
