Have something you wanna say? Got a question? Wanna do a guest freestyle? Wanna just say hello? Hit me up by email!
I am excited, honored, and flattered to be posting a bonus guest freestyle grid today by the very talented and funny Adam Nicolle. (He has posted another of his own themeless grids at the same time here.) When I got the initial email from him with the grid you’ll see attached, I knew I was in for something good. It’s interesting to be talking about a grid from the solver’s perspective, but I realized when I was solving this grid that I hardly ever construct grids like this — lots of interlocking long entries instead of my usual stacks of long entries. After doing this one, I was thinking maybe I should start! I was awed by all the entries he interweaved in this grid — three across entries, all fifteen letters, and four down entries, two 13s and two 10s, without a dud among them or any of the other entries. And the cluing vibe was such that I changed exactly one clue. Everything about this was right on my wavelength.
