Last Friday’s Anagram Crossword solution
Word count: 74 (hence the mistake!)
Mean word length: 5.22
The heading of this post says “Own your mistakes” for a good reason. The original intent of this grid was to make a freestyle grid with a sort of theme involved. Turns out that I finished constructing the grid, only to realize that there are 74 entries, not 72. Oops. I tried to transform it into a 72-entry grid, but there was no easy way to do it without ripping the whole thing apart. Despite that… lucky for me, despite the error, there is definitely enough of a theme to make this a full-on themed grid, though not so much in the conventional way. So, I’m owning my mistake and not trying to sneak it by you as a true freestyle grid (plus, honestly, I didn’t want all that work to go for naught!).

18-Across is inaccurate (it was not a Wii title).
Also: whew! That’s a grid, alright. I’m kind of awed by how normal this all feels despite… well, you know!!

Thanks for pointing this out. I see where I was mistaken. The sequel “Mario Power Tennis” was released for Wii but not apparently the original.
